TOURATECH Companero WorldWide motorcycle jacket and pants have been developed for adventure touring in the widest range of weather conditions and temperatures. With proper base and mid layers the Companero handles the coldness, hottest desert rides and anything in between. It`s perhaps not the best choice for everyday motorcycling back at home, but when traveling the Companero becomes very competitive. It`s nothing like any other suit. The modular WorldWide garment concept is exceptional and the suit consists of 2 separate shell suits and a detachable storm collar. The 1ST module is made of highly breathable CORDURA® fabrics and the 2ND module is made of the Gore-Tex® PRO Shell 3 layer laminate including a CORDURA® surface fabric. The 2ND module comes on top of the first when the temperature drops or the rain begins. The modular concept means that the adventure rider has to reserve some of the luggage capacity for the 2ND module and having basically 2 suits on simultaneously would be a little bit heavier solution than the conventional. The cut of the hot weather TOURATECH Companero WorldWide motorcycle jacket and pants is a little bit slimmer which means slightly less room for mid layers.

The Gore-Tex® laminated TOURATECH Companero WorldWide motorcycle jacket and pants form the wind and waterproof shell on top of everything else. By having the membrane on the top, everything below remains dry which is a clear comfort factor compared to multiple wet layers on top of a Gore-Tex® liner. The 2ND module forms a thermal air buffer with the first which is always beneficial, but the slim fit of the summer suit makes the thickness of the base layer more critical in the coldest conditions. The slim fit gives a small advantage from the volume adjustments point of view, but nothing serious. All suits needs to be adjusted according to the layers in question and even if the WorldWide suit requires less adjusting, the difference is small. On the other hand, the waterproof TOURATECH Companero WorldWide motorcycle jacket and pants need to stored on the bike somewhere close and handy. I would recommend to strap a larger bag for the rain suit on top of the pannier or the rear rack instead of using the utility bag. Even if the utility bag is one of the biggest, there is hardly enough room for the whole Gore-Tex® suit.

The highly ventilated TOURATECH Companero WorldWide motorcycle jacket and pants are made of CORDURA® 500D which allows a slow air flow through the fabric on the whole surface area. The amount of air flow through the garment has been increased with CORDURA® AFT panels. Due to that there is no need for zipper vents anymore. The CORDURA® 500D is also highly tear and abrasion resistant and areas exposed to the highest mechanical wearing, are reinforced with CORDURA® 2000 fabric. The Companero WorldWide is one of the most ventilated adventure touring suits. The sleeves have VELCRO® cuff adjustments and zipper closures which is the best combination and the quickest way to open up the cuffs when putting the jacket on or taking it off. The volume adjustments on arms, around the upper body and on the legs allow to keep the inserts close to the body and on the right places at all times. On both sides below the waist line, the TOURATECH Companero WorldWide motorcycle jacket has extension panels which are useful when full pockets are pulling the hem.

The ventilated TOURATECH Companero WorldWide motorcycle jacket and pants come with an extensive impact protection system which is accomplished with CE approved shoulder, elbow, back, hip and knee armor inserts. The back protector is taller than the conventional E-norm armor and offers a better protection level 2. A mesh liner separates the back protector from the rider, providing better ventilation and moisture evaporation. The Companero WorldWide jacket has an additional adjustment belt keeping the back protector close to the body. Further safety features come with the increased visibility. The jacket has 3M Scotchlite reflective stripes on the upper back and the chest area in addition to the yellow accents. The jacket has only few pockets and the rider needs to optimize the amount of items in the pockets. The Companero WorldWide jacket has 1 inside chest pocket, 2 large waist line pockets at the front and a large utility pocket at the rear. The level of ventilation would be decreased with further pockets and from the safety point of view, less items in the pocket is better if something happens. Unfortunately the sunglass pocket is not dust-proof which makes it useless after few offroad LEGs. One clever detail is that the utility pocket can be removed and used as a waist bag with the integral belt.

The TOURATECH Companero WorldWide motorcycle jacket can be zipper connected with the Gore-Tex® jacket in the front and the hem could be placed behind a waterproof flap so that the summer jacket would not absorb any water from the seat. The jacket has also a rugged hanger at the back outside the jacket and fixed directly to the structure. This way the high overall weight including the armor inserts and items in the pocket could not damage the jacket. The pants have VELCRO® waist line adjustments and flex panels above the knees, but no suspenders. The pants can be zipper connected with the jacket providing additional support. The pant legs are equipped with snap fastener and VELCRO® cuff volume adjustments. This way the knee protector remains in the right place and the pants legs can be placed on top of and in the boots according to personal preferences. There are no hard parts such as zippers catching the boot`s liner and the CORDURA® AFT makes the cuff area thin providing better comfort. The suit can be machine washed without the armor inserts. TOURATECH Companero WorldWide Gore-Tex® Jacket & Pants

The wind and waterproof TOURATECH Companero WorldWide jacket and pants are made of a 3 layer CORDURA® and Gore-Tex® PRO Shell laminate providing efficient protection against the elements and a thermal air buffer between the 2 suits. The shell material is thin and light without the classic thermal lining and the impact protectors. Even after the rain, the Companero Gore-Tex® suit remains light and dries fast so that it could be placed soon back in the luggage. Motorcycle suits with detachable Gore-Tex® liner need more time to dry after the rain, but the advantage is rather small. The Companero Gore-Tex® jacket and especially the pants with long zippers on the legs, are easy to put on when the conditions suddenly change, unlike the Gore-Tex® liner pants that are much more troublesome to put on along the road. The long zippers open up the pants high enough so that the rider can step in even with stiff motocross boots on. The zippers itself are not waterproof, but they are protected with waterproof flaps. The Gore-Tex® jacket has on the inside hem another flap which prevents the hem of the AFT jacket from absorbing the rain water from the seat.

The TOURATECH Companero WorldWide Gore-Tex® jacket and pants can be ventilated below the armpits and in front of the pants. The air vents on the jacket are large and since the pants have no pockets, the zippers are used to access the AFT pants pockets and to ventilate the Gore-Tex® pants. The air vents allow to fine-tune the ventilation between the AFT and the Gore-Tex® suit before the temperature comes high enough to take the 2ND module suit off again. The jacket has only 2 large inside pockets on the chest and 2 outside pockets at the front on the waist. The snap fasteners at the front and close to the fuel tank are rubber coated which eliminates scratching. The collar is neck brace compatible and there are no hard parts pressing the body when the brace is on. The Gore-Tex® pants have flex panels above the knees and on the lower back eliminating pull and providing better comfort on the saddle.
