Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® Gloves with Short Cuffs
Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle gloves with short cuffs are designed for allroad and adventure touring in warm and especially changing weather conditions. The VAUHTI gloves are in it`s best in moderate temperatures and cloudy conditions with light rain showers, when a long cuff would be too warm and prevent the air flow in the sleeves. The Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle gloves have few ventilation features and a breathable shell construction, but that is hardly enough for the most active hot weather riding well beyond the 20 degree or 68 fahrenheit. Such conditions require the best ventilation and a constant air flow through the shell construction, like RUKKA Him gloves offer.
The Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle gloves are wind and waterproof, while still allowing the sweat to evaporate efficiently which extends the short cuff features beyond the conventional and makes the VAUHTI gloves good for 3 seasons. Usually short cuff gloves have no Gore-Tex® protection since they are mainly designed for the hottest temperatures. Still there are a lot of countries providing varying weather conditions and therefore the VAUHTI gloves are an interesting exception and exactly what allroad riders are looking for. The Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle gloves have extensive protection features in addition to excellent fit. The protection is very important for allroad and adventure riders. One could never know when the fall hits and one of the 27 bones in the hands could easily end the journey or at least kill the joy of riding. As long as the gloves provide a proper handlebar contact, there can not be too much protection and the VAUHTI gloves deliver one of the very best protection features. The money would be well spent with the Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle gloves.
Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® Motorcycle Glove Features
The Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle gloves provide a ideal combination of versatile protection and sharp handlebar control features. Both very relevant for allroad and adventure riding on loose surfaces and active riding style. The offroad riders need constant and exact feedback from the controls on how the bike behaves and how good the tyre grip is. In oder to do so, the gloves must fit very well, the hands remain rub free and comfortable. The Gore-Tex® XTrafit technology means that 3 layers are laminated together and become 1. The real leather shell construction is integrated with CORDURA® fabric, Gore-Tex® membrane and polyester lining. Those 3 layers as 1 keep the gloves wrinkle free, eliminate liner shifting and provide an exact handlebar feel. Therefore the palm side remains comfortable and rub free. On top of the Xtrafit technology, the Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle gloves have handlebar grip posture related pull resisting features such as corded nylon stretch panels on top of the fingers and the backhand, but also pre-shaped fingers with elasticated articulations and pre-curved palm. As long as the size is right, there is no pull nor grip resistant.
Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® Motorcycle Glove Protection
The Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle gloves provide a high level of protection which fits very well to allroad motorcycle riding on loose surfaces. When something happens, especially the hands are crucial from the tour continuing point of view and therefore a best possible protection would be in order. The VAUHTI gloves have versatile protection features on top of the abrasion resistant real leather and CORDURA® shell construction. On the backhand side there is a carbon knuckle protector surrounded by foam padding and leather on the edges. All the fingers have foam padding and the ones with the highest risk of massive sliding abrasion, are shielded with ceramic SuperFabric plates. The index and the middle finger have less exotic TPR protectors since they have naturally lower abrasion risk. On the other hand, they are leather reinforced on the finger tips and offer durable lever handling. In the Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle glove backhand wrist area there is foam padding protecting the CARPALS bones. Personally I would like to better protect the protruding ULNA bone with the foam padding and SuperFabric, but hardly anyone does that with the short cuff gloves.
On the palm side of the Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle gloves, there are leather reinforcements on the high wear areas, foam padding on the impact points and ceramic SuperFabric -plates protecting the heel with an extension tab. The slide extension tab provides additional protection when the hand is bend backward revealing the wrist for aggressive abrasion. Usually short cuff gloves do not offer such extended abrasion protection for the wrist and carpal bones which is a pity since injuries in that area take a long time to recover from a trauma. The SCAPHOID foam padding forms with the LUNATE foam padding a bridge providing better protection for the CARPALS bones. In addition there is a double layer of leather reinforcement and a foam padding protecting the head of the SESAMOID bone from a side impact. The VAUHTI gloves have TPR and VELCRO® closures ensuring that the gloves stay on even during a fall. The key Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle glove features are:

When looking for the right size and testing the Rukka VAUHTI Gore-Tex® motorcycle gloves, pay attention to the grip posture resistance, the position of the knuckle guard and the size of the finger fourchettes in relation to your hand. The right size VAUHTI gloves do not resist the handlebar grip posture and the knuckle guard stays in place balanced on top of your knuckles when putting the hand in a loose fist and opening it back and forward a couple of times. A small size pulls, moves the guards forward and puts a pressure on knuckles and fingers.
