Alpinestars TOUCAN Gore-Tex® dual sport motorcycle boots put up few very competitive and useful features on the plate. The TOUCAN -footwear incorporates industry leading motocross crash protection features with complete weather resistance and conventional touring boot dimensions. Dual sport motorcycling on versatile surfaces and in all year round conditions exposes the rider to versatile elements, higher level of risks and surprises which should be recognized and correspond well with the riding apparel. Never the less, MC -footwear needs to be for all day use very comfortable and functional at the same time. Rather stiff MX -boots can offer even more impact protection and support for riding in standing posture, but hardly enough comfort and proper walking features that are also essential for DS -touring. The Alpinestars TOUCAN Gore-Tex® dual sport motorcycle boots are designed for adventurous offroad touring and riding in standing posture. The TOUCAN -footwear offers a right amount of protection, comfort, support and feel to the bike.
The Alpinestars TOUCAN Gore-Tex® dual sport motorcycle boots provide adequate amount of support for riding in standing posture, but the rider can not lean against the shaft the same way as proper MX -boots enable. A multi-density Skywalk® -outsole eliminates vibrations from the chassis and a 3/4 -steel shank keeps the sole rigid under the riders weight. The TOUCAN -shaft is backed up with an achilles support including a flex plate, hinge & memory buckle on the lateral side and a large TPU -paneling on the medial side. The arrangement improves overall comfort and especially feel to bike. A 2 -buckle and VELCRO® -closure system is lighter, adjustable and more flexible providing better walking features and foot lever control. In addition both at the front and the back side of the TOUCAN -shaft there are large flex zones. The Alpinestars TOUCAN Gore-Tex® dual sport motorcycle boots offer serious impact protection features with a massive TPU -paneling, full size shin guard, low profile toe-box and a MX -style heel cockpit.
The Alpinestars TOUCAN Gore-Tex® dual sport motorcycle boots protect also from the elements. The TOUCAN -footwear has a waterproof GTX® -liner delivering both comfort in versatile weather conditions, but also essential rain protection. Since the DS -riders cross every now and then smaller streams, waterproof boots are necessary. The GTX® -enhanced lining is fast wicking, breathable and an EVA -foam footbed can be removed allowing efficient drying after the ride. The medial side TPU -paneling shields against the heat from the motorcycle and especially from the exhaust, but the overall black color without advanced ventilation system increases the inside boot temperature in the hottest sunlight. The TOUCAN -footwear benefits from the Gore-Tex® -membrane, but there are additional ways in the MX -world to increase the cooling effect even further. The TOUCAN -boots may very well be the icon in the DS -category, but there are so many requirements to fill up that we have not yet seen all of them in a single pair of MC -boots.
